NCAR

The terrain is located in Boulder, CO, behind the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Although the dataset was originally chosen from the Open Topography project because of my familiarity with the trails behind NCAR, it turns out that by coincidence NCAR was responsible for the first applications of LIDAR technology later used to gather this data.

The dataset did not include color data, but did include multiple elevations for vegetation (and some power lines). The color here is generated based on the two datasets and relative elevation.

The dataset may be downsampled for machines without the gpu to handle the full set.

No Downsampling | One Half | One Fourth | One Eighth
