After reading that the largest mountain in the solar system is both tall enough to reach out of the atmosphere but gently sloped enough to be walkable, I had to see it for myself. After all the work we put into getting things into space here, the Martians can just walk there!
The point cloud is an extrapolation of DEM data from MOLA, and incorporates a few attempts at expanding the particles to fill in gaps for aesthetic purposes. Periodic highlights of red indicate slopeyness by way of a discrete partial derivative. These are artificially enlarged in hopes of having fewer areas that can be seen through. Unfortunately this causes spurs at cliff edges which are unacceptable.
